Police responded to the scene following a distress call, and the investigation is ongoing.

Initial reports suggest the attack may have stemmed from an altercation, but no official confirmation has been provided. Sanchez, a USC alum and fifth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, retired from professional football in 2019 after a career marked by playoff appearances and memorable moments like the "Butt Fumble." He has since transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a familiar face on Fox NFL coverage.

The NFL community has expressed shock and support on social media, with fans and former colleagues wishing for his speedy recovery.

Recent reports indicate that thankfully, he is now stable.
