Tucker Carlson: The US Lost Control of the Strait of Hormuz | WATCH
The Strait remains the central flashpoint in a very fragile ceasefire, one that could unravel quickly if shipping stays bottlenecked and global oil prices keep spiking.

In a clip from his latest podcast episode that went viral today, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson sharply criticized U.S. foreign policy and military credibility in the wake of the fragile U.S.-Iran ceasefire.
Carlson said: “If you are the strongest military in the world, why can’t you force Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz? We’re really not as powerful as we said we were. How did this ‘primitive country’ just humiliate us? That’s bad for us, but it’s also dangerous because it invites aggression. We need to fix that by being honest about what just happened. No more lying.”
This comes in the wake of a shaky two-week ceasefire that was announced on April 7–8 (with Trump issuing public ultimatums and threats to bomb Iranian infrastructure). The deal was supposed to include reopening the Strait.
Instead, Iran has only allowed limited traffic through Iranian-controlled “safe corridors,” demanded high tolls on passing ships (reports cite up to $1–2 million per vessel), and warned of mines in other areas.
Yesterday (April 8), after Israel’s massive airstrikes on over 100 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, Iran announced it was closing the Strait again in protest, saying the Israeli action violated the spirit of the ceasefire. The White House insists the Strait remains open and denies any violation.
