U.S. Destroys Two of Its Own Aircraft During Heroic Rescue of Downed Navigator in Iran
U.S. forces successfully rescued a downed navigator from remote Iranian mountains in a high-stakes operation. To protect sensitive technology, the military destroyed two disabled American transport planes on-site.

American forces successfully extracted a U.S. military navigator from deep within Iranian territory Sunday morning, following a complex rescue operation that required the intentional destruction of two U.S. aircraft to prevent sensitive technology from falling into enemy hands.
The navigator had been missing since Friday after his plane was downed over the "dangerous mountains of Iran." According to reports from The New York Times, the rescue mission hit a critical snag when two transport planes, tasked with carrying commando units and aircrews, became disabled at a remote Iranian site.
Faced with the prospect of the Islamic Republic seizing the grounded assets, commanders ordered the two transport planes destroyed. Three additional aircraft were flown in to complete the extraction.
Trump Applauds Operation
President Trump confirmed the successful rescue, noting that the unnamed service member was injured but is expected to recover. The President emphasized the high-stakes nature of the mission, stating that the military used "dozens of aircraft" equipped with advanced weaponry to secure the site.
"This brave warrior was behind enemy lines... while our enemies chased him and drew closer by the hour," Trump stated. "But he was never truly alone."
A Rare Double Success
The White House also revealed that this was the second successful extraction in as many days. A separate pilot was rescued on Saturday, though that mission remained classified until today to avoid compromising the second operation. This marks the first time in modern military history that two American pilots were rescued from deep within enemy territory in separate, consecutive operations.
