US Mulls Asylum for British Jews Amid Rising UK Antisemitism
Robert Garson, personal lawyer to President Trump, is urging the US to offer asylum to British Jews fleeing rising antisemitism. Read the exclusive details on why he claims the UK is "no longer safe" and his criticism of PM Starmer.

Robert Garson, personal lawyer to President Donald Trump and a British-born Jewish American, has been pushing the idea of the US offering asylum to British Jews who feel unsafe due to what he calls a surge in antisemitism across the UK.
He went on record saying the UK is "no longer a safe place for Jews," pointing to incidents like the October 2025 attack on a Manchester synagogue and broader tensions tied to the Israel-Hamas war since October 7, 2023.
In an exclusive in The Telegraph yesterday (Sunday), Garson revealed he's held talks with the State Department about providing refuge.
At 49, Garson practiced law in London before moving to the US in 2008, and he's framing this as a way to not only protect people but also bring in skilled, educated members of the British Jewish community. He also didn't hold back on UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, accusing him of turning a "blind eye" to the issue.
This isn't an official White House policy, at least not yet. The administration hasn't commented, and sources like The Guardian and Newsmax describe it as early discussions within Trump's team.
If it moves forward, it would be groundbreaking: US asylum laws typically apply to people fleeing persecution in non-democratic countries, not allies like the UK.
This comes amid Trump's recent comments distancing the GOP from antisemitism, like in a New York Times interview where he said there's "no room" for it in the party.
But with no official word from the White House, it's still in the rumor phase, though Garson's influence could push it further.
