BREAKING: Pentagon Prepares ‘Final Blow’ for Iran, US Ground Assault to Force Tehran's Surrender
Axios reports the Pentagon is drafting plans for a "final blow" against Tehran, including Special Ops raids and limited ground troop insertions. The move signals a major escalation in Operation Epic Fury as diplomatic efforts remain stalled.

The Pentagon is actively developing military options for a potential “final blow” against Iran that could include the deployment of U.S. ground forces, including special operations raids and possible limited conventional troop insertions, along with a massive new bombing campaign, Axios reported Thursday.
Multiple U.S. officials and sources familiar with the planning told Axios the contingency plans are being prepared as backup should current diplomatic efforts collapse and the ongoing Operation Epic Fury fail to force Tehran into full surrender of its nuclear program and proxy networks.
The ground-force scenarios reportedly focus on special operations missions to seize or destroy Iran’s remaining stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, with discussions also including possible seizures of key coastal or island targets (such as Kharg Island) to control the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump has not ruled out the use of ground troops, telling advisers they could be deployed “for a very good reason” once Iranian air defenses and conventional forces have been sufficiently degraded.
While the plans do not envision a full-scale, Iraq-style invasion with hundreds of thousands of troops, the development of these options marks a significant escalation in U.S. planning.
No final decision has been made on any ground component, sources stressed. The White House and Pentagon declined immediate comment on the Axios reporting.
