US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff told ABC News today (Sunday) that America's red line in talks with Iran is enrichment of fissile material - "not even one percent."

This statement comes following reports that the Trump administration was considering allowing a return to the JCPOA, which would allow Iran to enrich uranium up to the level needed for civilian energy but also retaining the capacity to rapidly enrich it for the sake of making nuclear weapons.

According to multiple reports, Iran enriched a great deal of uranium very close to the point of being usable as a nuclear weapon under the Biden administration, and have repeatedly offered to reduce enrichment in exchange for lifting the currently crippling economic sanctions on the country.
