BREAKING: Hamas Hands Over Seven Hostages to Red Cross - Live Coverage from Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square
Seven hostages released as part of the latest ceasefire phase — families reunite in Israel as Trump’s arrival coincides with fragile hopes for a lasting Gaza truce.
Seven Israeli hostages, Matan Angrest, Alon Ahel, Eitan Mor, Gali Berman, Ziv Berman, Omri Miran, and Guy Galboa Dalal, have been handed over by Hamas to the International Committee of the Red Cross, marking the second phase of the hostage release deal between Israel and Hamas.
According to IDF officials, the hostages are expected to meet Israeli forces within minutes inside Gaza before being transferred to medical and security teams at a reception site in Re’im, where families are anxiously waiting. “All appear to be standing and walking on their own,” one military source told Israeli media.
The Red Cross convoy is reportedly en route to a meeting point in northern Gaza, as confirmed by Al Jazeera, which also published an image of the exchange area near Khan Younis.
Families Waiting in Hope
At the Re’im reception compound, families of the freed hostages are gathered with military psychologists and medics. Eitan Mor’s parents, Tzvika and Efrat, were photographed waiting by the entry gate, holding signs reading, “Eitan, we’re waiting for you.”
In Ramlah, relatives of Yosef Haim Ohana, who remains held in Gaza, are also holding vigil and praying for his release in the next round of handovers.
Visuals Across the Country
As anticipation builds, a banner welcoming U.S. President Donald Trump, who lands in Israel later today, has been placed along Tel Aviv’s beachfront near the American Embassy, alongside signs calling for the immediate release of all remaining hostages.
Trump is expected to visit Israel for four hours before flying to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to co-chair a high-level peace summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, aimed at finalizing a ceasefire agreement to end the Gaza war.
