IDF Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has ordered a restriction on leave for IDF units starting Thursday. Arutz Sheva reported that the order will keep soldiers on their bases as the army prepares for Israel's elections. The measure is subject to ongoing situational assessments.

For soldiers in the affected units and their families, the change takes effect on Thursday. Troops will not leave base for as long as ongoing assessments require.

The leave restriction was one of several readiness measures Zamir ordered at the assessment. Senior commanders will increase their presence in command centers, headquarters and units to ensure operational readiness and combat preparedness.

Zamir also ordered the Paratroopers Brigade headquarters and additional forces to reinforce Central Command. The goal is to strengthen the deployment there and put more soldiers on the ground.
