Treaon in the IDF: Major Leaks Iran Strike Dates for $162,000 Polymarket Prize
A true scandal is rocking the Israeli security establishment

While the entire State of Israel held its breath on the night of June 12, waiting for the results of Operation "Rising Lion", against Iran’s nuclear and terror infrastructure, one man already knew exactly when the planes would take off, and it wasn’t because of his devotion to duty.
A severe indictment cleared for publication this evening reveals a saga of corruption, breach of trust, and sickening greed: A Major in the Air Force reserves, a man entrusted with the most sensitive secrets of Israel’s national security, turned a fateful military operation into a personal betting slip.
The Smoking Gun: A WhatsApp Message Worth $162,000
According to the indictment, the betrayal began last June. The Major, who participated in highly sensitive operational briefings and signed strict non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), could not resist the lure of easy money. Days before the operation he sent a WhatsApp message to a friend with the fateful intel: The strike on Iran would take place on the night between June 12 and 13.
The friend wasted no time. He logged onto Polymarket, a popular international decentralized prediction market, and bet heavily that the strike would occur before July. When the Major saw the "sure bet" was live, he even urged his friend to significantly increase the wager.
The Result: A profit of $162,663.
"This is a slap in the face to every soldier on the front lines," a security source told JFeed. "While pilots are risking their lives over enemy skies, someone is sitting in an office or at home, trading our blood and security for digital dollars."
The Method: Crypto, Bribery, and Multi-Front Betrayal
The corruption didn't stop with Iran. The investigation reveals that the mechanism continued to function:
The Yemen Strike: In September 2025, the Major again leaked information regarding an IAF strike against Houthi rebels. The friend bet, won, and pocketed thousands more.
Money Laundering: To cover their tracks, the friend opened a digital wallet for the officer and transferred a "cut" of the winnings in cryptocurrency. The officer managed to cash out the coins for a profit of approximately 200,000 NIS before investigators closed in.
The Cover-Up and the Current Conflict
In early January 2026, as tensions with Iran spiked once again, the duo tried to recreate their "success." The Major provided updates on an upcoming strike, and the friend rushed to place his bets. However, this time, media reports about a clandestine investigation into suspicious betting patterns on Polymarket sent them into a panic.
They deleted messages, changed usernames, and attempted to wipe all photographic evidence, but it was too late. Police investigators and special units were already one step ahead.
This evening, in the Tel Aviv District Court, formal charges were filed.
The Major is charged with delivering secret information, accepting bribes, and obstruction of justice.
The Friend faces even harsher charges, including aggravated espionage, providing bribes, and obstruction of justice.
