In a sharp departure from traditional diplomatic decorum, Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a blistering warning to European leaders on Wednesday, accusing the continent of a dangerous "naivety" regarding the Iranian threat. Speaking to a global audience via the Zionist advocacy organization StandWithUs, Herzog made it clear: Israel’s current war against the "Empire of Evil" is the only thing standing between Tehran and the heart of Europe.

The 4,000km Reality Check

Herzog’s most chilling point centered on the rapid evolution of Iranian ballistics. Referencing the recent strike on the Diego Garcia base, Herzog noted that Iran now possesses missiles with a range of 4,000 kilometers, putting every major European capital, including London, firmly within the crosshairs of the Ayatollahs.

"Why are you so naive?" Herzog asked rhetorically. "Read their writings, study their ideology, and understand: you are next. It is time for Europe to stand up and say, ‘No more.’"

He specifically took aim at the British government, questioning how the UK can acknowledge dozens of Iranian-linked terror plots on its own soil in a single year yet remain hesitant to fully commit to the coalition’s effort to crush the regime.

The Trump Tension and the "Netanyahu Factor"

The briefing comes at a complicated moment in U.S.-Israeli relations. While Herzog praised President Donald Trump for his "brave and historic" decision to shift the direction of the Middle East through military action, a personal rift remains visible.

President Trump recently stated that Herzog "should be ashamed" for refusing to grant a pardon to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Herzog addressed this tension indirectly, reiterating that Israel is a "sovereign nation operating under the rule of law," while maintaining his gratitude for Trump’s strategic support in the fight against a nuclear Iran.

For the first time, Herzog leaned into the "unofficial" objective of the current campaign: Regime Change. While the formal goals remain the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear and long-range missile programs, Herzog suggested that a lasting peace, and the expansion of the Abraham Accords to include a "proudly Muslim" moderate bloc, is only possible if the current regime is "crushed."

"We need to ensure that we emerge from this war in a way where the family of nations doesn't just respect us, but where we can lead a great change in the Middle East," Herzog stated.

A Nation Toward the Polls

Amidst the external war, Herzog also touched upon Israel’s internal fractures. He confirmed that the country is likely heading toward elections in approximately six months. He warned that the upcoming campaign would be "stormy" and divisive, defining his own role as the "bridge" to ensure that the internal rift does not deepen while the nation fights for its survival on the front lines.
