The Israel Meteorological Service issued a red alert Thursday morning warning of heat stress in the Beit She'an Valley, the Kinneret basin, the Jordan Valley, northern Judean Desert and Dead Sea area, southern Judean Desert and Dead Sea region, and the northern Arava.

Friday's forecast calls for clear skies after morning clouds clear. Temperatures will climb further across most areas of the country. Conditions will be hot and dry in the hills and interior, while humid along the coastal strip. Heat stress will worsen, reaching heavy to extreme levels throughout most regions.

On Saturday, pleasant weather is expected once morning clouds lift. Temperatures will drop slightly, mainly in mountainous and inland areas. Heat stress will ease somewhat, though conditions will remain heavy to extreme across most of the country.

Expected temperatures for Thursday and overnight: Jerusalem 18-32°C (64-90°F), Tel Aviv 24-31°C (75-88°F), Be'er Sheva 22-34°C (72-93°F), Haifa 23-31°C (73-88°F), Tiberias 22-38°C (72-100°F), Safed 17-34°C (63-93°F), Eilat 28-40°C (82-104°F).
