After the serious concern for her life, the extensive searches, and the missing phone, Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi was arrested alongside the Chief Military Prosecutor.

The suspicions against her include obstruction of investigation procedures, submitting a false affidavit, fraud, and breach of trust.

The allegations relate to the highly sensitive abuse case of Hamas terrorists in a IDF base, which sparked international shock and condemnation earlier this year. Tomer-Yerushalmi and Solomash are accused of knowingly leaking a selectively edited video of alleged abuse, without authorization and without informing the IDF Chief of Staff.

The leak, which was allegedly orchestrated within the Military Prosecutor’s Office, fueled negative media coverage around the world, further harming Israel’s reputation during a crucial diplomatic moment.

According to investigative reports, the two are suspected of misleading senior officials, including:

They allegedly withheld information and lied about the source and intent of the video leak, while also obstructing subsequent internal investigations into the matter.

Tonight’s events took a dramatic turn when Tomer-Yerushalmi went missing for several hours stirring a national storm, before being found without her mobile phone in a remoted beach near Tel Aviv, an incident authorities say may reflect an attempt to tamper with evidence, raising the suspicion of further obstruction.

Tomer-Yerushalmi made contact with her husband using a stranger's phone, which ultimately led police forces to her location. “I am a few kilometers away from where you are. I’m okay,” she told him. The reason for the abandoned note and the still-running vehicle remains unknown, these details are currently under investigation.

At around 5:00 PM this evening, a phone call raised serious concern among the family of the General, prompting the police to begin tracking the Military Advocate General’s phone. Security cameras showed her vehicle parked near Tzuk Beach, with her phone and a note inside, details that left investigators with no choice but to deploy large forces to the scene in order to locate her.

These developments underscore growing concerns over unchecked autonomy within the Military Prosecutor’s Office, and have sparked national debate over accountability and transparency among Israel’s highest legal and military offices
