The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested three men suspected of murdering Israeli-American businessman Alexander Modvadze, 47 years old, during a violent home invasion at his residence in Woodland Hills.

According to police reports, the suspects, identified as Pata Kuchiachwili, 38, Zaza Otarashvili, 46, and Besiki Khutsishvili, 52, broke into Modvadze’s home, held him hostage for several hours, severely assaulted him, and ultimately killed him with fatal head injuries. They then fled the scene carrying a large amount of stolen property. Authorities stated that the three belong to a Georgian crime gang operating in the area. Each suspect is currently in custody with bail set at two million dollars.

The attack took place late Friday night, shortly before 1:00 a.m., at Modvadze’s home on De La Osa Street. Witnesses reported seeing multiple individuals entering the property during the night and fleeing soon afterward. Emergency responders arriving on the scene found Modvadze with critical head wounds, and despite efforts, he was pronounced dead on site.

Initial investigations suggest that the break in was a deliberate and planned act involving kidnapping and severe violence.

Forensic evidence and security footage from the crime scene helped locate the suspects within hours. Kuchiachwili was apprehended with FBI assistance in Van Nuys, while Otarashvili and Khutsishvili were arrested together in nearby Glendale.

Authorities believe Modvadze was a preselected target rather than a random victim, although multiple motives, including criminal revenge and financial gain are still under review.

Modvadze, who had lived in Woodland Hills for the past 15 years, was a respected businessman in the local Israeli-American community. Neighbors described him as sociable and friendly, noting he had no visible conflicts.

Woodland Hills is considered an upscale and generally safe neighborhood with low crime rates. "This is usually a very peaceful area. You almost never see police activity here, let alone hear about a murder," a local resident told American media outlets.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are asking anyone with further information to come forward.
