As the threat level across Israel rises amid the ongoing military operation "A Nation As a Lion", the head of the IDF Home Front Command, Major General Rafi Milo, issued a direct message to the Israeli public, calling for heightened preparedness and discipline in the face of incoming threats.
“In this campaign, broad alerts are expected. There is a critical need for optimal sheltering - whether in private spaces or public ones. The safest locations are secure rooms (Mamad), shelters, reinforced spaces in schools, and public shelters approved by the Home Front Command. If these are not nearby, stairwells or inner rooms are also acceptable.”
General Milo stressed that every citizen must be aware of the safest nearby protected space, and upon hearing a siren, must enter it immediately and remain there until given official clearance to exit.
He also advised limiting travel and movement during this time, adding:
“We are entering days that will be intense and complex. We are strong and prepared - together, we will protect the State of Israel.”
