"It’s No Longer If, But When": Israel Braces for Imminent U.S. Strike on Iran as Death Toll Mounts

Following President Trump’s recent statements, senior Israeli officials have reached a dramatic conclusion: An American military strike on Iran is no longer a question of "if," but "when."

According to reports by Doron Kadosh of the Israeli Military Radio, and NBC News, the Israeli defense establishment is preparing for a scenario where the U.S. launches an attack, potentially triggering a direct Iranian retaliation against Israel.

The Horror in Numbers

New intelligence assessments presented to Israel's political echelon reveal the staggering scale of the bloodshed in Iran, which has been hidden behind a 5-day total internet blackout.

While some estimates are of 12,000 and perhaps even more killed, the Israelis are right now reporting

Despite the carnage, Israeli and Arab officials have reportedly warned the Trump administration that the Iranian regime has not yet weakened to the point where a standard military strike would automatically topple it.

However, the assessment is clear: without external intervention, the regime will likely massacre its way to survival.

The Timeline: Waiting for the Carriers

While tensions are at a boiling point, a U.S. strike may not happen immediately.

According to Israeli pundits assessments, while the U.S. has bases in Qatar, Turkey, and Germany, its current air power in the immediate region is limited.

The Pentagon is expected to move two to three aircraft carriers and heavy B-2 bombers into the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean before initiating an attack. This buildup of force requires days of organization, meaning a strike is unlikely before this coming weekend or early next week.

Israel on High Alert

The IDF is operating under the assumption that if the U.S. attacks, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei will order retaliatory strikes not only against American assets in the Middle East but against Israel as well.

In response, the IDF has ramped up its alertness to the highest levels:

As of tonight, the IDF remains uncertain regarding the scope of Trump’s planned operation. Options range from symbolic strikes on regime symbols to broad attacks on military facilities. However, officials warn that once the first missile is launched, the dynamic becomes unpredictable.

The only thing currently under control is the decision to launch; the escalation that follows is the great unknown.
