The Silent Surrender of a Nation

A New Form of Arab Terrorism: Hijacked Roads, a Paralyzed Nation — How Israel Handed Over Its Streets to Its Enemies

Arab Road Crews, Government Neglect, and a Society Too Afraid to Speak

Article image background

Arabs are the ones carrying out all the roadwork projects in the State of Israel. This is no secret. Anyone who has left their home in recent years sees that they are the ones blocking the roads; working slowly as if to torment us all.

At this point It seems like a persistent attempt to impose control and inflict agnoy over the Jewish public. This method was made possible by a government that has abandoned the public space, especially the Ministry of Transportation under Miri Regev and the Likud party, who trade in power and fail to do even the bare minimum required to amend this disgusting reality.

We’re talking about dozens of projects across the country being run in exactly the same way — blockages, congestion, wasted time, wasted money, and zero accountability.

And why is no one talking about it? Because if you dare bring it up — you’re immediately labeled a racist, and erased from public discourse. It’s the easiest way to silence legitimate criticism. Meanwhile, the damage continues: the Israeli economy loses billions due to the traffic jams, citizens are worn down, and the infrastructure — crumbles.

Last night, for example, I stood for long minutes in a pointless traffic jam in Tel Aviv. I thought to myself — maybe the Chief of Staff or the Prime Minister was leaving the Kirya? No such thing. When I finally reached the intersection, I saw that the two largest lanes on King Saul Street — right in front of the Kirya — were completely blocked, and A team of Arab workers were just sitting in the middle of Israel’s largest city, at 11 p.m., in the heart of one of its five main traffic arteries — eating dinner.

A tragic skit — a modern-day version of Ephraim Kishon.

And it’s not as if they alone are to blame. You can't expect a Likud government, which is failing in almost every area, to do anything to stop this disgrace. Nor can you expect the citizens — who agree to everything like frogs slowly boiling in water — to rise up and protest.

So, like everything else in this country — things will just drag on. Slow, paralyzed, chaotic, leaderless — with dinner laid out in the middle of the intersection.
