Was the Gaza Aid Station Riot a Fluke,or a Warning Sign for Israel’s Plan?

While the media is covering the mobbing of one Gaza aid station as though it is proof the whole idea of independent provision has already been proven a failure, there's reason to ignore this as baseless panic.

Hamas and its media cheerleaders, as well as humanitarian organizations and their media cheerleaders, have been quick to celebrate the chaos at one of the four aid stations in the Gaza Strip today as alleged "proof" that the independent effort is doomed to fail.

There are, however, many reasons to be skeptical of the skeptics.

For a start, three aid stations ran their distribution without a hitch. Even the station that was looted soon restarted the distribution and are prepared to restart tomorrow. That distribution included tens of thousands of packages amounting to hundreds of thousands of meals.

Second, this is not some badly thought out idea solely made to placate a base, as was President Biden's stillborn pier idea. The Israeli government is very determined to end Hamas control of aid and to starve it of funds and supplies, and it has the full backing of the Trump administration on this. A mobbing here and there is very unlikely to stop the effort.

Third and most importantly, pretty much every prediction of Israeli failure based on initial struggles has been proven wrong: whether IDF operations in various parts of the Gaza Strip, its success in freeing hostages without surrendering to Hamas, or keeping the state afloat.

We all need to take a deep breath and let both IDF operations and the current aid distribution system have a few months of trying to work before judging their results.
