Why Turkey Should Be Expelled from NATO
President Trump moves to officially designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization, reigniting scrutiny of Turkish President Erdogan’s long-standing support for the group and fueling renewed calls for Turkey’s expulsion from NATO.
On November 23, 2025 Gregory Lyakov wrote in the Gateway Pundit "President Donald Trump is moving ahead with one of the most important national-security decisions of his administration: formally designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization.
In an interview reported by Just the News, President Trump stated that “final documents are being drawn” and that the designation “will be done in the strongest and most powerful terms...”
If President Trump is designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization then Erdogan must be expelled from NATO.

The Islamist Turkish government was openly dismayed at the popularly supported military intervention that toppled the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. According to the Arab newspaper Al-Arabiya, Turkey has since “become the regional hub for the Muslim Brotherhood’s international organization.”

An Arab newspaper reports that Hamas is so dependent upon Turkey that Erdogan exercises significant control over its actions. The Turkish government even had Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh change one of his speeches and stopped the group from trying to reconcile with the new Egyptian government.
Turkey told Hamas that it was not time to make amends with Egypt. Erdogan believes the Muslim Brotherhood can still be victorious in Egypt with help from Turkey, Qatar and the international Brotherhood apparatus."
Erdogan is a supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood, Turkey should be expelled from NATO.
