OVERNIGHT ISRAEL: Finish The War? Or Fight Each Other?
As the war against Hamas enters its most decisive phase, internal tensions in Israel threaten to derail the mission, divide the nation, and shift the focus from victory to political infighting

Finish the War or Fight Each Other?
Last night, Israel’s battle lines became clearer, and not just in Gaza. The fight is heating up at home too.
Baharav-Miara Pushes for an Investigation, Mid-War
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, already known for trying to expand judicial power, is now demanding a full State Commission of Inquiry into October 7 immediately.
Why a State Commission?
Because it hands control to unelected judges and bureaucrats — not elected officials.
Government Response: Not now. A special investigative committee will be formed instead, updating the Supreme Court after the next war phase.
The message from the government is clear: Focus on the war first. Internal politics can wait.
The War Plan Moves Forward
While political players argue, the Security Cabinet approved a bold new Gaza plan:
- Conquer territory
- Push Hamas forces south
- Establish deep Israeli control
- Overhaul aid distribution to block Hamas from resupplying
This isn’t about “managing” the war anymore — it’s about winning it.
Hostage Families Furious
Hostage families, desperate to bring loved ones home, are now accusing the government of prioritizing land over captives.
The Hostages’ Forum called it the "Smotrich-Netanyahu Plan," claiming it abandons the hostages.
Reality Check: Crushing Hamas is how you bring them home — not negotiating under fire.
Still, the anger of the hostage families is very real — and deeply understandable.
Israel's Quiet Migration Strategy
Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi revealed another layer of strategy: voluntary emigration for Gazans.
Israel is working with allies to create paths for Gazans who want to leave.
The idea? Collapse Hamas’ control by offering people a real way out.
This isn’t just winning battles — it’s about changing Gaza’s future.
Cabinet Tensions Boil Over
Inside the war cabinet, Itamar Ben Gvir clashed with IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir:
Ben Gvir: Stop all humanitarian aid. Starve Hamas out.
Zamir: Cutting all aid could violate international law and hurt Israel’s international standing.
Netanyahu stepped in, opting for a middle path: aid will continue, but under strict Israeli control.
The Draft Fight Erupts
Meanwhile, back in the Knesset, the Haredi draft battle is exploding:
Yair Lapid accused the government of paying off ultra-Orthodox men to avoid service.
Naftali Bennett blasted the coalition as draft dodgers.
Yuli Edelstein demanded answers from Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz.
The draft conversation isn’t going away anytime soon.
Israel’s Choice: Win or Collapse
At the end of the day, Israel faces a simple choice:
- Finish the war
- Or collapse into political infighting before victory is secured
While Baharav-Miara and others push for endless commissions, real leadership is focused on defeating Hamas, rescuing hostages, and securing Israel’s future.
There’s a time for investigations.
Now is the time for victory.
