A surreal scene unfolded in Florida when a crab was filmed clutching a knife blade in one of its claws, creating a viral sensation after footage showed it confronting a local resident and his dog.
The incident took place in Palmetto Bay, where Eduardo Alvarez's dog approached a crab near their home. In the video Alvarez posted to social media, the crab can be seen brandishing the blade toward the dog, and when Alvarez himself attempted to get closer, the crustacean waved the knife in his direction as well.
"Watch out for him, he's a gangster crab," Alvarez is heard joking to his dog in the footage. Alvarez eventually managed to gain control of the situation, moving the armed crab away from the area and relocating it to his yard.
The video has racked up millions of views online and sparked countless amused reactions. According to reports, the crab appears to be a blue land crab, a species common in Florida's coastal regions.
