Why Young Americans Hate Israel

When you can’t openly hate yourself, you start hating the defining characteristics that made you you.

The proof that America does not fight Israel’s wars is simple: America has not been winning its recent wars, while Israel has not been losing hers.

That fact alone points to a fundamental difference in outcomes, strategy, and military culture. It also suggests a limited level of coordination, not domination. The methods are different. The instincts are different. The results are different.

If the United States were truly enslaved to Israel, as the conspiratorial argument goes, then Israel would presumably want its supposed vassal to win. The master benefits when the servant succeeds. If the servant repeatedly fails, the master replaces him. Why would Israel, a small country surrounded by enemies, want the only global superpower friendly to it to be humiliated, weakened, and strategically exhausted?

Here we arrive at a bitter truth.

A generation of young Americans that has no living memory of watching America win has come to curse America’s last great victory: World War II. That victory is not part of their own emotional inheritance. They missed it. And because they missed it, they increasingly treat it not as the foundation of American greatness, but as the origin of everything they believe went wrong.

The same exact WW2 revisionists of the younger generation now argue that Israel somehow allows itself to win while forcing America to lose. But why would Israel bet its survival on a losing horse? What strategic room for maneuver would Israel gain from seeing the only friendly superpower in the world collapse into defeat, paralysis, and self-hatred?

This is where the story changes.

The myth of Israeli control is less about Israel than it is about an impotent vision of America. It is less a serious account of geopolitics than a psychological mechanism for explaining away American failure. It is not really the old fantasy of Jews sitting in a dark basement and secretly managing the most powerful empire in history. It is something more contemporary and more revealing. It is a way of saying that there is no America worth fighting for. The anti-Israel narrative provides an archetype through which even classical, conservative, biblical America can be declared already corrupted. The argument becomes: Why defend America, if even the old America was secretly captured? Why fight for the republic, if the republic itself was only the mask of Jewish power? In that sense, anti-Israel politics becomes a cover for American revisionism of what America is. It is not exactly anti-Americanism in the old sense. It is a project of revising America into something no longer recognizably American - from both the extreme right and the extreme left.

This new brand of Neo-Americanism must pass through America’s core biblical symbolism. Just as the Germans, in order to create themselves anew, had to confront the old myths of the Jews and the Romans.

The attack on Israel serves a deeper purpose: to sever America from its biblical past and push it toward a negative, disoriented future. It creates a story in which the old symbols are poisoned, the old victories are suspect, and the old loyalties are traps. For such a transition to happen, there must be a demon in the machine. There must be a small hidden force that explains why the game was rigged, why the leading actors were corrupt, why the entire structure must be replaced.

Without that demon, the ordinary American story remains intact. Without Israel as the alleged manipulator, one is left with America’s own decisions, America’s own failures, America’s own loss of nerve - and in fact left to deal with the partial ability of Classical Liberalism, to ensure a paradise on earth.

And that is precisely what the anti-Israel story is designed to avoid.

Once this mechanism is exposed, the picture becomes clearer. We are being asked to choose between an uncertain revolutionary future and a past now described as rotten in its metaphysical foundations. The demand for revolution requires a symbol of corruption. Anti-Israel politics supplies that symbol.

That is the whole function of the myth.

It is not really about Israel controlling America.

It is about Americans who no longer believe America can control itself.

And so, the excitement, the gateway drug that this obsession provides, for people who are not brave enough to fight for a revolution, and not smart enough to even imagine a great future.

Another way one can see this, is as a revolt against parents, who gave the children an idea of America, so removed from any depth, that the need is to uproot any spiritualism whatsover - but without directly hurting the parents.

Another way one can see this, is as a revolt against parents, who gave the children an idea of America, so removed from any depth, that the need is to uproot any spiritualism whatsoever to start anew - but this is a need to do it without directly hurting the parents, for their feelings is the only constant and known in this world of ignorance.

In both forms of explanation, the element that is fundamental to the American system, is viewed as external (Israel), yet somehow, it is controlling the inside. And thus, it is justified to over-emphasized its involvement - because it should not fit, let alone be more successful than the so called host system.

This obsession, about the external, is to the point of making that external element everything, - why? So to not deal with what exists in the system outside of that element - which is a crisis of democracy, classical liberalism, and christianity.

To which the younger generation, when not busy yelling at Israel, has no better answer than any previous generation.

And suddenly, it is Israel that manages to live as a young nation, with less degeneracy, with an old myth, and with much hope for the future. While in America, the younger generation is consumed by ignorance and hate towards the founding myth of the bible.

Thus Israel is a way for them to kill the parents, after America was already Killed in vietnam by the grandparents - in a place where all that is left is a distant memory, that cannot be admitted due to shame.
