Grad’s Lies About Israel Cost Him His Degree
Watch: NYU Student’s Shocking Anti-Israel Speech at Graduation Triggers Diploma Suspension
Logan Rozos, a student speaker at NYU’s Gallatin School graduation sparked outrage by delivering an unapproved anti-Israel speech accusing Israel of “genocide” in Gaza, omitting Hamas’s terrorism, leading NYU to withhold his diploma.

In yet another alarming display of anti-Semitic rhetoric masquerading as activism, New York University’s Gallatin School graduation ceremony descended into chaos when student speaker Logan Rozos, a self-described LGBTQIA+ activist and Student Chair, hijacked the event with an unapproved anti-Israel tirade. Rozos, who had submitted a different speech for university approval, used his platform to condemn Israel for “genocide and atrocities in Gaza,” conspicuously omitting any mention of Hamas’s terrorist actions or the Israeli hostages held captive since October 7, 2023. This deliberate deviation from his pre-approved remarks, cheered by some but met with stunned silence by others, has reignited fierce debate over the growing wave of brainwashed students on American campuses who, fueled by social media falsehoods, champion terrorist groups like Hamas while vilifying Israel.
NYU swiftly condemned Rozos’s actions, with spokesperson John Beckman stating, “NYU strongly denounces the choice by a student at the Gallatin School’s graduation today, one of over 20 school graduation ceremonies across our campus, to misuse his role as student speaker to express his personal and one-sided political views.” Beckman added, “He lied about the speech he was going to deliver and violated the commitment he made to comply with our rules. The University is withholding his diploma while we pursue disciplinary actions. NYU is deeply sorry that the audience was subjected to these remarks and that this moment was stolen by someone who abused a privilege that was conferred upon him.” The university’s decisive response, including withholding Rozos’s diploma, reflects mounting pressure to address antisemitism on campus, especially amid fears that such incidents could jeopardize NYU’s federal funding or tax-exempt status under the Trump administration.
Rozos’s speech, which echoed anti-Semitic tropes propagated online, highlights a disturbing trend among students radicalized by misinformation on platforms like TikTok and X, where Israel is falsely portrayed as a genocidal oppressor while Hamas’s atrocities are ignored. While some hailed Rozos for “speaking truth to power,” others, including Jewish students and alumni, decried his remarks as a hateful abuse of a ceremonial platform. Complaints flooded in, underscoring the pain inflicted on attendees expecting a unifying celebration. This incident, one of many at U.S. universities, exposes the toxic influence of lies that fuel support for terrorism and hatred toward Israel, prompting calls for stronger measures to combat campus antisemitism and hold accountable those who exploit academic spaces to spread divisive propaganda.
