Revenge on a plate: Woman kills 40 gangsters linked to her family’s murder with poisoned pastries
Deadly empanadas bring justice as she turns herself in without regret.

An extraordinary story emerged from Haiti, a country plagued by gang violence and lawlessness. Local media reported that a woman set out on a personal mission of revenge against a criminal group that murdered her family, serving a deadly dose of justice in the form of poisoned pastries.
The woman, whose name was not allowed to be published in order to protect her life, works as a street vendor who prepares pâté, a local version of empanada, a pocket of stuffed and fried dough. According to reports, the woman's relatives were murdered by the criminals who took over the neighborhood where she lives, south of the capital Port-au-Prince.

The gang members belonged to one of the armed groups of the G-9 organization, a gang alliance led by Jimmy Charizier, known as "Jimmy Barbecue," who have been wreaking havoc and terrorizing the streets of the country for nearly a decade. Charizier, a former police chief, has led direct attacks against the government, and experts estimate that his people control about 90 percent of the capital's territory.
According to reports, the food vendor prepared a large amount of stuffed dumplings but added powerful powerful pesticides to them. She then arrived at the compound used by the gang members as headquarters in her neighborhood and handed them the deadly loot, thanking them for "keeping the peace of the community."
The criminals did not suspect anything and willingly ate the poisoned pastries. Within minutes, they began vomiting and diarrhea, and most of them breathed before reaching the hospital. At this point, the woman who brought the pastries to the criminals disappeared from the scene.
