Yissachar Dov Spiegel Passes Away after Drowning at Netanya Beach; Search Continues for Missing Brother
Tragedy in Netanya: After five days of prayers, 21-year-old Issachar Dov Spiegel, z"l, passed away following a drowning incident at Sanz beach. Search efforts continue for his missing brother, Avraham Yeshayahu.

After five days of prayers and hope against all odds, Yissachar Dov Spiegel, z"l, aged 21, passed away last night at Laniado Hospital in Netanya. He had been in critical condition since drowning at the Sanz beach in Netanya last Friday afternoon.
The deceased was a distinguished student at the Tushia-Tifrach Yeshiva and later at Yeshivat Keter Torah in Kiryat Ye'arim. He was the son of Rabbi Shlomo Spiegel, the Rosh Yeshiva of the well-known "Spiegel" Kibbutz Yeshiva. Since Friday, when he was pulled from the water without a pulse or breath, doctors at the Sanz Medical Center fought for his life while tens of thousands across the world tore the gates of heaven in prayer for his recovery.
In the final hour, as his medical indicators plummeted, heartbroken family members gathered around his bed in the Intensive Care Unit. His family recited the Viduy (confession) and "Shema Yisrael" before he died.
Only hours before his passing, the family visited the Sanz Rebbe, who offered them words of strength regarding faith amidst the darkness, words that have now taken on a chillingly poignant meaning.
The Search for the Missing Brother Continues
As the family prepares for the funeral procession to depart from his parents' home in Jerusalem, the tragedy is far from over. Large forces of naval police, divers, and volunteers are still conducting frantic searches in the depths of the sea and along the Netanya coastline for his brother, Avraham Yeshayahu Spiegel, who disappeared beneath the waves during the same tragic incident on Friday and has not been found.
The public is requested to continue praying for the swift discovery of Avraham Yeshayahu ben Shoshana.
