Thousands gathered in Monsey this week for the wedding of a granddaughter of the Nikolsburg Rebbe, with admorim and rabbanim filling the hall for a simcha that joined two of the community's most prominent chassidic families.
The kallah is the daughter of Rav Meir Yosef Rottenberg, son-in-law of the Nikolsburg Rebbe and himself the son of the Razla Rebbe. The chosson is the son of Rav Chaim Eli Ilowitz, rav of Yemering and a son-in-law of the late Kretchnif Siget Rebbe zt"l.
During the mitzvah tantz, the well-known badchan Rav Yoel Liebowitz, who is also a son of the Nikolsburg Rebbe, recited original verses and called his father to dance with the kallah.
The Rebbe then joined his granddaughter in a spirited dance, holding her hands as chassidim looked on, in what witnesses described as a moment of intense simcha and kedusha.
The Kretchnif Siget brothers, admorim in their own right, also danced together at the simcha, having traveled to Monsey to take part in the celebration.
