A serious head-on collision early Monday morning left at least one victim – reportedly an Israeli meshulach – in serious condition after being airlifted to Westchester Medical Center.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. at the intersection of Orange and Rockland Road and Route 208. Emergency responders, including Kiryas Joel Hatzolah, Monroe Fire Department, Monroe EMS, Monroe Police, and New York State Police, responded to the scene with multiple victims reported injured. Two medical helicopters were requested for transport.
One of the victims, a passenger in a taxi and identified as a meshulach visiting from Eretz Yisroel, suffered a traumatic arrest following the impact. Kiryas Joel Hatzolah volunteers worked to stabilize him at the scene before he was airlifted. He remains in serious condition at Westchester Medical Center.
A second medevac helicopter was also dispatched for another injured party. The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the New York State Police.
