Faith Under Iron Wings: A Shofar Sound in an El Al Plane as Elul has Arrived
Watch the inspiring moment as a Chabad member blows the shofar on an El Al flight to New York, marking the start of Elul and demonstrating Jewish unity amid challenging times.

As the Jewish people has been suffering a rough wave of antisemitisim, increased in large scale after the October 7th, unity and faith have never been so essential as it is now.
The answer of the question "how to keep the Jewish flame alive?" it's not clear, but a recent El Al flight to New York City shared a clue.
As the month of Elul dawns, the Jewish world enters a crucial period of introspection and preparation for the High Holy Days. As a demonstration of joy, faith, unity and spirit, one representative of a group of young Chabad men, who were going to spend a year in an orientation program at 770 Center, has been asked by a flight attendant to blow the Shofar. Not only the man did blew, but the flight attendant gave a show of emuná.

"The purpose of blowing the Shofar is actually to awaken. At this time, I'll ask this dear young man to blow the Shofar and grant us all the right to awaken. This is what I'll grant and bless the people of Israel, each and everyone of you here on the plane, on this flight, that we may awaken, that we may be able to do only good things, that we may have a good and sweet year." Said the flight attendant.
Historically, our resilience against adversity has stemmed from a profound collective identity and mutual responsibility. The adage, "All Jews are responsible for one another," isn't just a saying; it's the bedrock of our survival.
In an increasingly fragmented world, internal and external pressures threaten to divide us. Ideological differences and generational gaps can create rifts. Elul challenges us to look beyond these divides, fostering empathy and understanding. The shofar's daily blast serves as a spiritual alarm, reminding us to bridge gaps, connect, and recognize that our shared heritage transcends all differences.
"We are a people of Segula, the living people of Israel, there's nothing like the Jewish people." Highlighted the flight attendant.
This Elul, let the shofar not only awaken individual spiritual reflection but also rekindle our unwavering commitment to one another.
