Tucked away in the heart of Jerusalem, a studio is home to a man whose art seems to hang in every Jewish home across the globe. For 15 years, artist Yossi Bitton has been in his Jerusalem studio, creating work that he believes is not just art, but a reflection of the soul of the Jewish nation.
Born and raised in the mystical, artistic city of Tzfat, Bitton's passion for painting began at a young age. He recalls how artists would flock to the city’s famed artist colony every summer, transforming the streets into an open-air classroom. It was there, he says, that he learned the endless techniques of his craft.
"I was born with it, I think," Bitton says to Thank You Hashem reporter, reflecting on his innate need to create. "This is how I express myself."
