Rav Yitzchak Barda, rosh yeshiva of the Yitzchak Yerannen institutions in Ashkelon and brother-in-law of Maran Rav Meir Mazuz zt"l, announced in his weekly shiur that he will vote for United Torah Judaism (Gimmel) in the coming elections.

Rav Barda, who supported the list of Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir in the previous elections, addressed the shifts in the political map and said: "I don't know the one who joined him, I don't know what their agenda is now."

He then described his meeting with United Torah Judaism chairman MK Yaakov Asher: "Yaakov Asher came and spoke, and we spoke with clear understanding about the matters at hand. Therefore I decided on my own to vote United Torah Judaism Gimmel."

Rav Barda explained his decision: "We are of one mind, in guarding the Torah, in guarding yeshiva bochurim, in guarding Shabbos, in guarding everything that belongs to the holy Torah."
