Blame shifts from Iran
Assessment: Rabbi Kogan's murder not linked to Iran
Authorities now believe another terrorist group was behind the attack on the Chabad emissary.

According to the most recent assessment, Iran is not directly behind the horrific murder of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, one of Chabad's emissaries in the United Arab Emirates.
Ynet reported on Sunday night that the terrorists who murdered Rabbi Kogan were not acting on behalf of Iran, but on behalf of Islamic Jihad or Hamas or another terrorist organization.
This follows the public disavowal by the Iranian ambassador to the UAE of reports that the Revolutionary Guards were behind the murder.
The Iranian embassy said last night that it "rejects these accusations without reservation."
Last night, the UAE ambassador to the United States addressed the incident and said that they mourn Rabbi Kogan, and that they offer condolences to his community and friends. He called the incident a "crime against the UAE" and said his country rejects extremism and fanaticism of any kind.
Meanwhile, Kogan's coffin is expected to be transferred to Israel as soon as possible, and his funeral is expected to take place on Tuesday.
