Ethiopian Airlines cargo plane denied entry to Israel, forced to return due to Indonesian crew member
An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-800F cargo plane was denied entry into Israeli airspace and required to turn back after departing Addis Ababa for Ben Gurion Airport on flight ET3414. Israeli authorities rejected the aircraft because one crew member held Indonesian citizenship. The plane departed again the following day after the crew was replaced. The incident has been dubbed the "Fly Dubai Flight Effect," suggesting a pattern of similar occurrences involving crew members from countries without diplomatic relations with Israel.
