The Trump administration threatened to halt weapons shipments to Ukraine if Kyiv does not stop striking Russian energy infrastructure, the Financial Times reported Monday.

According to the report, Washington delivered a message to Ukraine demanding an end to attacks on Russian oil refineries. Senior European officials said the message included a threat to suspend intelligence sharing and freeze the mechanism for transferring American weapons to Ukraine if Kyiv refuses to comply.

The report follows President Donald Trump's announcement Sunday of an "energy ceasefire" agreement between Russia and Ukraine, in which both countries allegedly agreed to stop attacking each other's energy facilities. Despite the announcement, Russia struck power stations in Kyiv and Kharkiv overnight.

Both Russia and Ukraine denied that any ceasefire agreement had been reached. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said shortly after Trump's statement: "If President Trump agreed on this with Putin, please tell us when the ceasefire begins. We are ready and will agree to it."
