Three foreign activists were detained for questioning Sunday night after they were caught filming IDF soldiers at a security post in Hebron. Investigation revealed that one of them serves as president of an extremist anti-Israel organization and promotes BDS activity. All three were brought to a hearing at the Population and Immigration Authority and expelled from the State of Israel.
According to the Israel Police spokesperson, the foreign activists arrived at the 'Hasam Shoter' checkpoint, a crossing point between the Jewish community and Palestinian Hebron. An IDF soldier carrying out routine security duties at the post caught them filming the position and the soldiers stationed there.
A check of their camera equipment turned up additional photographs of IDF soldiers who had been at the location during previous shifts. The three were transferred to the Hebron police station for questioning, where the soldier's testimony detailing the incident was taken.
