Yair Netanyahu, son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, fired back at the left on Monday after the leak of WhatsApp messages from Yonatan Urich's account led to renewed attacks against him.
"The truth is, I was sure that after it was exposed that the Iranians sent a cell to murder me, the left would ease up with their incitement against me," Netanyahu said. "Nothing. Zero empathy. They continued to incite against me with full force and to regret that the murder didn't succeed. A violent, crude, insane camp, without boundaries or humanity."
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, speaking in an interview with Roni Kuban, addressed the younger Netanyahu and said of him: "He is a despicable person who stands alongside his father at the head of a terrible poison machine."
Yair responded: "Where have you heard such a thing, that one politician smears the son of another politician, two weeks after it was exposed that the Iranians tried to murder him, and all this on a channel funded by the Israeli taxpayer, and it just passes?! Have you ever heard my father smear the son or daughter of one of his political rivals? What garbage."
