Some delivery drivers drop off a package and leave. One FedEx driver in Lakewood drops off a package and leaves a whole street humming.
The non-Jewish driver has gone viral after a video showed him playing Hasidic music while making his rounds, all to put smiles on the faces of the Jewish children along his route. He didn’t just put on a playlist and hope for the best, either. He took the time to learn songs by Hershy Weinberger and other Hasidic artists, according to 5 Towns Central.
His explanation was refreshingly simple. “The music is so positive. How can you not like it?” he said.
Lakewood, it seems, agrees. The clip spread quickly online, and it has now reached the man behind many of the songs. Weinberger saw the video and is searching for the driver, hoping to meet him and perform a duet together.
If that happens, it may be the first time a FedEx route has ended in a kumzitz.
