Anti-Israel rallies took place across New York on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, marking three years since the Hamas massacre in the communities around Gaza. One of the main demonstrations was held outside City Hall, where protesters chanted against Israel and waved Palestinian flags.

The protesters waved Palestinian flags, and at some of the events Hamas and Hezbollah flags were also seen, with sharp chants against Israel including "Israel, go to hell" and "long live the intifada."

Against that backdrop, a young Black man appeared wearing a shirt bearing the Israeli flag, standing face-to-face with Satmar chassidic students who were holding Palestinian flags on the edge of the anti-Israel gathering in the area.

Later in the day, protesters also arrived at a memorial event for the October 7 victims at Union Square, and the counter-protest disrupted the ceremony and required police barriers to separate the groups.
