Netanyahu slams racist podcast remarks

Businesswoman and left-wing activist Galit Albin used derogatory terms for Mizrahi Likud voters in an interview with Avi Shoshan; the prime minister called her comments no less than repulsive

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned a podcast interview in which businesswoman and publicist Galit Albin mocked Mizrahi voters who support Likud, using what the prime minister described as racist and degrading language.

In the interview with Avi Shoshan, Albin referred to Mizrahi right-wing voters as "an entire herd" and used the pejorative term "Bibists" as a synonym for Mizrahim.

Albin also attacked Mizrahi right-wing voters by asking aggressively, "Is there no connection between the hand that puts in the ballot and the brain?" She then mimicked applause and chants of "Bibi" in what observers described as a mocking and racist manner.

Netanyahu responded on social media, writing: "I was shocked, and sadly not for the first time. The condescension and humiliation of millions of Israelis who vote for the right in Israel is no less than repulsive. My dear brothers and sisters - our answer to this racism will be at the ballot box."
