Transport Minister Miri Regev announced Sunday the formation of an independent investigative committee to examine the events leading to last Thursday's work stoppage at Ben Gurion Airport, Israel's main international gateway. The external probe will operate alongside an internal review being conducted by the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) council.
The Airports Authority separately announced its own internal investigation, to be headed by the IAA's internal comptroller with assistance from an independent external professional. According to the IAA, the committee has been instructed to produce preliminary findings by the end of this week.
