IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited Palmachim Air Base on Sunday, accompanied by Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tischler and other senior officers. During his meeting with elite airborne commandos, Zamir offered rare insight into their classified activities, noting that "the wing operated farther than ever before."

The visit included a strategic assessment of the Air Force's readiness across multiple scenarios, both defensive and offensive. He also spoke directly with members of the special operations units, expressing appreciation for their operational contributions across all theaters of conflict.

"In recent years, you have brought new capabilities to the battlefield. The operations you have carried out are unprecedented, requiring audacity, imagination, and execution capability, and we cannot discuss most of them publicly," Zamir told the assembled commandos. "In the multi-arena campaign we are engaged in, the wing has operated farther than ever, with unique and groundbreaking capabilities, and for a more extended period than ever before. These are activities that will be written into the pages of IDF history, with strategic significance."
