IDF detains Palestinians conducting uncoordinated olive harvest near Beitar Illit
IDF soldiers, Border Police, and district police detained harvesters and dozens of individuals who arrived to conduct an uncoordinated olive harvest near Beitar Illit on Wednesday. The IDF stated that harvesting in the area requires advance coordination with authorities to ensure security and public order. The landowner was informed of the coordination requirement and given contact information to arrange a future harvest. The IDF emphasized that approximately 100 coordinated harvests have been conducted across Judea and Samaria to date, yielding dozens of tons of produce without unusual incidents. Security forces are working to facilitate a safe and orderly olive harvest season alongside ongoing defensive and counterterrorism operations.
