Against the backdrop of escalating tensions between Israel and Turkey, the Israel Navy and the Hellenic Navy conducted a joint maritime exercise approximately two weeks ago. The drill involved two Israeli missile boats alongside two Greek naval vessels, the IDF announced. According to military officials, the exercise was held as part of ongoing cooperation between the two navies, aimed at strengthening ties between the forces and enhancing joint operational readiness.

During the exercise, forces practiced a range of operational scenarios including emergency situations, identification and neutralization of threats in the maritime domain. The drill also featured crew exchanges between the forces, designed to advance knowledge sharing and strengthen operational capabilities between the two navies.

"Deepening cooperation with partner navies strengthens operational capabilities and international relations, and contributes to reinforcing regional stability," said Deputy Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral T. "These collaborations deepen the readiness of forces to deal with a variety of scenarios, strengthen the defense of Israel's maritime borders, and reinforce the naval arm as a strategic asset for the State of Israel and its security."
