Israel Preps for Missiles on Election Day

Acting director general of Central Elections Committee outlines contingency planning for unprecedented security threats during upcoming parliamentary vote

As Israel approaches its parliamentary elections amid heightened security tensions, the Central Elections Committee is finalizing complex logistical and security preparations to address an unprecedented range of potential threats.

Attorney Din Livneh, acting director general of the Central Elections Committee, spoke Monday morning on Radio 103FM about the intensive behind-the-scenes work underway to ensure voting proceeds smoothly and without interruption, regardless of circumstances on the ground.

"We are preparing for various scenarios," Livneh explained during the interview. "Our planning includes the possibility of missile fire on election day, natural disasters, demonstrations, and attempts to block voters from reaching polling stations. We're covering everything from the most unlikely scenarios to situations that could realistically occur."

Livneh emphasized the committee's commitment to protecting every citizen's right to vote under any circumstances. "We are preparing for every scenario so that every voter will be able to cast their ballot," he said.
