National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who chairs the Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) party, announced Thursday that Knesset member Limor Son Har-Melech will be placed fifth on the party's list for the upcoming Knesset elections. He also informed Yitzhak Kreuzer that he will occupy the sixth position.
The announcement comes as Israeli parties finalize their candidate lists ahead of Tuesday's submission deadline. The placement represents a significant shift from the previous election cycle, when MK Tzvi Fogel held a higher position than Son Har-Melech. Fogel will now be pushed to at least seventh place on the list. The current lineup includes Ben-Gvir at the top, followed by Tally Gotliv, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, Amichai Eliyahu, and now Son Har-Melech and Kreuzer.
Son Har-Melech currently serves as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset and previously chaired the Knesset Health Committee. She is considered a prominent figure in Israel's religious Zionist community. During her tenure in parliament, she has sponsored several significant legislative initiatives, including a death penalty law for terrorists, the repeal of the 2005 Disengagement Law to enable renewed settlement in northern Samaria, and legislation to halt the operations of UNRWA (the UN agency for Palestinian refugees) in Israel.
