Kremlin says Putin ready to order ceasefire on Ukraine election day if elections held

The Kremlin stated that Putin is prepared to order a ceasefire on the day of elections in Ukraine, contingent on Ukraine deciding to hold elections. The statement comes days after President Trump suggested Ukraine needs a new president instead of Zelensky. Ukraine's last elections were held in 2019, with the 2024 elections postponed due to the ongoing war.
