A 30-year-old man sustained critical injuries Sunday evening after being shot during an attempted robbery on Kanfei Nesharim Street in Jerusalem's Givat Shaul neighborhood. Israeli police confirmed that officers were dispatched to the scene following the incident.
According to initial reports, the wounded man was shot by a civilian during what appears to have been an attempted theft, possibly involving money. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency medical service, arrived at the scene and provided initial treatment before transporting the victim to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in serious condition with a penetrating injury.
Shlomi Friedman, a volunteer with the Rescue Union emergency response organization, described the scene: "When I arrived, I saw a man around 30 years old suffering from a penetrating injury to his upper body after being wounded in a violent incident. Together with additional MDA paramedics and EMTs, I provided initial medical assistance, including stopping bleeding and bandaging, and he was evacuated by MDA intensive care ambulance in serious condition for continued treatment in the trauma room at Shaare Zedek Hospital in the city."
