She's known for sharing her daily life with a smile, humor, and infectious energy, but a series of Instagram stories posted by Maya Wertheimer revealed a far more human, vulnerable, and important side. In an unfiltered text post, the Israeli television host shared insights that had recently surfaced for her.
"I was talking with a friend last night and I realized that I'm constantly trying to please everyone and wasting so much energy because I want everyone to like me," Wertheimer shared while filming herself. "I'm afraid. I'm afraid that people won't like me, I'm afraid that I'm a 36-year-old pregnant woman, and every woman experiences this somewhere, right? So I'm acting out of fear instead of acting out of love."
What began as recognition of a people-pleasing pattern transformed into an inspiring call for her hundreds of thousands of followers to engage in self-reflection and take responsibility for their lives.
Wertheimer didn't stop at simply sharing her feelings, she also offered a practical action plan for dealing with the barriers and fears that govern our daily lives:
Take responsibility: "Take responsibility for your life, it's up to you and only you."
The 5-second rule: "Count to 5 and do it, without letting thoughts and fear paralyze you."
Liberating action: "Act! Action liberates."
Self-examination: "Are you acting from love or from fear?!"
Wertheimer concluded her confession on an optimistic note filled with self-compassion, writing an important reminder for herself and her followers: "And my goal is to act from love, and so it will be."
