Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Member of Knesset Amit Halevi yesterday afternoon to congratulate him on his impressive performance in the Likud party's primary elections.
Halevi made a significant leap forward in the internal party vote, receiving approximately 22,000 votes from party members. This propelled him from a regional representative slot to 19th place on the national list. However, due to the Likud's system of reserved slots for regional representatives and other designated positions, Halevi's actual placement on the party's Knesset list stands at 33.
During their conversation, Netanyahu expressed confidence that Halevi would enter the next Knesset and continue his work, "one way or another." The prime minister also thanked him for what he described as critical work on behalf of the state throughout the current term.
