Trump threatens trade restrictions on Switzerland over $39 billion deficit
President Trump issued a veiled threat against Switzerland over the U.S. trade deficit with the country. "I could erase that deficit with a single signature, and then it would no longer be an elite country," Trump said. He suggested he could ban Swiss watches and goods, stating "all I have to do is say: I don't want your watches. I don't want your goods. And that way, we save ourselves 39 or 41 billion dollars, and they go from being an elite country to a country in big trouble." Trump added, "Luckily for them, I'm a nice person."
