Turkey to deploy technical staff to Saudi Arabia under Mecca Pact

Turkey is preparing to send technical personnel and experts to Saudi Arabia as its first deployment under the Mecca Pact, a ruling party lawmaker said. The staff will assist with air defenses and electronic warfare systems. The lawmaker stated that Turkish troops deployed under the pact will not take part in offensive operations. A parliamentary mandate authorizing the deployment is expected to be submitted shortly after the pact's ratification.
