Crown Heights Stabbing: Jewish Man Attacked in Daylight

A Jewish man was stabbed Tuesday evening in Crown Heights in what authorities are investigating as a possible antisemitic attack.

The incident occurred just after 4:00 p.m. near the corner of Kingston Avenue and Lincoln Place, approximately one block from Chabad-Lubavitch World Headquarters. The 35-year-old victim, who was visibly Jewish, was walking along Kingston Avenue when he became involved in a verbal encounter with another man.

According to the victim, the suspect made antisemitic remarks during the confrontation. The suspect initially walked away, but the victim followed him down the block, where a second verbal dispute escalated into violence. The suspect then pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the chest multiple times.

Despite being wounded, the victim continued moving after the suspect, who fled the scene along Kingston Avenue and into the surrounding blocks.

The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

The stabbing took place amid heightened concern in the Crown Heights community following recent antisemitic violence abroad, including a deadly terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community in Sydney during Chanuka. Community members say the attack has intensified fear and anxiety in an area with a large and closely connected Jewish population.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, last seen wearing a black varsity jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
